There's an endless number of shower tile options to choose from. What makes it even harder to choose is all off the different ways you can put that tile up on your wall. The same shower tile can be positioned in so many different patterns. Each pattern being more elegant than the last. The most popular tile is the ceramic tile. Ceramic shower tiles are the most popular option for a number of reasons. They are a great value when you consider these three benefits.

Ceramic tiles are very strong and stain resistant. Once they are hanging on the wall they are nearly indestructible. You would need to shower with a hammer to break one. Not only are ceramic shower tiles very strong but they are also beautiful. They can be purchased in a never ending variety of shapes and styles. Of course they are also inexpensive when compared to other shower tile options like granite, quartz, and marble. As an added bonus they are also easy to install. Any homeowner can do it.

Marble and granite shower tiles are also a popular option. The are both considered a step up from ceramic shower tile (in most cases) and look absolutely beautiful on the wall. They can be installed using very large tiles with very small grout seams. Installed correctly they look seamless. Another advantage of granite or marble tiles is that you can install one large monolithic slab on each wall of your shower. No seams at all! It's a gorgeous look but when the shower tiles get that large maybe we should be calling them slabs instead.

A relative newcomer to the tile market are quartz shower tile. Quartz is competing directly with granite to be the crowned champion of the countertop industry. Quartz tiles are also starting to catch on with homeowners for bathrooms and showers for tile installation. I recommend considering quartz shower tile. It cost about the same as granite but is easier to maintain and the natural qualities of quartz makes it more resistant to staining and bacteria growth.
